Drying corn on the cobs

This is some of our Flint Indian Corn drying in the sun. When the corn is nearly dry, some of the kernels will start falling off. You may also notice wider spaces between the rows of kernels on the cob. Once the corn is completely dry, sort out the very best ears for seed corn, and save the rest to eat. When ground this corn makes delicious nutritious corn bread and muffins. When the Pilgrims first came to America it was the native American who taught them about this corn. It was life sustaining then and could be again!
