Tomato Plants

Nan set out tomato plants she had started in the basement. This area was our old goat and sheep corral. We used a black paper mulch, keeping down weeds and helping warm the soil. None are ready yet, in this mid July photo, but the plant stems are very thick, and there are plenty of green tomatoes waiting for hot, humid days to ripen them.
