Shelling Corn 2

Here is a closer view of the ears of corn I will grind into meal. You can see another view of the hand sheller tool in the kettle with the kernels. Two of the inner ridges or teeth can be seen. They are what gets the dry corn off the cob. It is MUCH faster than just using your hands with a twisting or wringing motion. Notice the pile of empty cobs looks very small to have yielded all the corn in the pot. The cobs shrink as they dry. When you shell corn the kernels and the empty cobs seem to take up more space than before.
